Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where is this property located?

A: The Eagle's Nest is located in the best and most unique spot that Monticello has to offer. Sitting directly above Pine View GC's proshop, it is the only course-front condo in the area, and is also positioned close (1/2 mile) to Indiana Beach amusement park. In fact, you can see the park's ferris wheel from the condo's large deck. Our guests benefit from numerous special privileges, including discounts for onsite golf, offsite golf, and Indiana Beach passes, plus use of Pine View Resort's pool, amongst others.

Q: What is the condo itself like?

A: The condo's quality is not to be outdone by its superb location. It offers 1,600 square feet of clean, beautifully maintained and decorated living space, and 600 square feet of deck space. Rooms include four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, living room, dining room, full custom kitchen, and (shared with proshop) laundry. But we believe that pictures speak louder than words, so click here for a floorplan, with several embedded pictures throughout.

Q: We are non-golfers. Is this place right for us?

A: Absolutely! We believe that the Eagle's Nest is well suited for any large group or family (8 guests maximum) who desire a spacious, beautiful, affordable place to stay. With a location overlooking a sparkling pond and views across the way to Indiana Beach, the combination of house quality and great location is unmatched in all of Monticello. Our choice to offer discounted golf to our guests, as opposed to bundling golf into the Eagle's Nest rental rates, reflects our commitment to offering equally affordable rates to golfers and non-golfers alike. In addition to the many special golf privileges, our guests are entitled to several non-golf privileges, such as use of Pine View Resort's outdoor pool, free disc golf at Pine Island, and discounted Indiana Beach passes.

Q: Aside from the great place and location, the listed amenities and special privileges, what are some other advantages of staying at the Eagle's Nest?

A: The Eagle's Nest offers so many things that your typical motel room or rental doesn't. Here's just a few:

  1. Togetherness: for many, the whole idea of vacation is to reconnect with family and friends. The Eagle's Nest's four bedrooms and 1,600 square foot of living space provides the opportunity for groups (of up to eight) to be together...laughing, card playing, imbibing...just having fun as a group!

  2. Seclusion: the Eagle's Nest's location in the middle of the golf course means that you have ultimate privacy at night, and if you so choose, the option of making a little late-night noise without the risk of disturbing others (plus no risk of neighbors disturbing you!).

  3. Nineteenth Hole Benefits: golfers with a particular fondness for the "19th Hole" have the convenience and safety of having home be just a flight of stairs away.

  4. Home Cooking Option: for some, eating out every meal can get old (and expensive), and the Eagle's Nest's huge custom kitchen and outdoor BBQ provides the option to cook at home...either a little, or a lot.

  5. Laundry: free access to the laundry room (shared with the proshop) gives you the option to pack a little lighter.

Q: Who are the proprietors behind the Eagle's Nest?

A: The Eagle's Nest is owned and operated by the same family that owns and operates Pine View Resort, Pine View GC, Pond View GC, and Mystic Hills GC. Not only does this affiliation enable us to offer our guests the aforementioned special privileges, we feel that it should lend a high level of confidence to those considering an Eagle's Nest reservation. We have been satisfying guests at Pine View Resort for over 20 years, and are proud to say that the Resort is Monticello's highest rated hotel. You can rest assured that we have applied that same commitment to the Eagle's Nest.

Q: Are there any known dates that onsite golf (i.e. Pine View GC) will be unavailable?

A: Our 2011 outing season has concluded. The course will remain open every day that the weather permits.

Q: How far are you from Purdue University (West Lafayette)?

A: Purdue University is about 30 miles (~40 minutes) away, so keep us in mind if you are travelling to Purdue and can't find what you're looking for in the Lafayette area. The owners have a slew of Purdue grads in the family, so we're especially eager to accommodate our fellow Boiler fans and alumni. Or if you happen to be coming in for a sporting event to cheer on the "other" team, that's okay too!

Q: I am concerned about the logistics of arriving, checking out, etc. How does it work?

A: We recognize the potential for guest's coming and going at "odd" times of the day and night. As a result, we have established all processes and procedures to make our guests 100% self-sufficient during their stay. It all starts with the reservation - once the deposit has been received, we email a confirmation that includes the property address, directions, parking instructions, the code to the lockbox that is mounted next to the front door (to let yourself in), and a phone number to call in the event of any problems. Once guests have arrived and checked themselves in, everything inside is fairly straightforward. However, there is a house guide to assist you in the event that you have problems finding something or figuring out how to use something. As for check-out, once again, guests are completely self-sufficient - simply hang up the keys, lock the doors, and you're off!

Q: Do guests have interior access to the proshop downstairs?

A: No, Eagle's Nest guests do not have interior access to the proshop. To access the proshop, guests must exit down the condo's exterior entry stairs and enter through the proshop's front door. Like all the other golfers, access will be available only during normal business hours, with no special "after-hours" access. The interior stairs connecting the proshop downstairs and condo upstairs has both a door at the top that guests can lock, and a door at the bottom that the pro shop staff keeps locked. Use of the interior stairs by both proshop staff and Eagle's Nest guests is solely for the purpose of accessing the shared laundry facility (see the floorplan on the Pictures page to help visualize).

Q: I have friends living/staying elsewhere in the area, and would like to host a small gathering. Can I?

A: In order to maintain a high quality place, we try to limit the amount of "partying" involving non-guests, and require that you provide details of your proposed gathering. If you are considering reserving and are interested in hosting a party/gathering involving non-guests, please contact us with the specifics, and we can see if we can work something out. Please know that a nominal fee may apply, depending on the specifics of the planned gathering.

Q: What are your policies regarding smoking? Pets?

A: Smoking is absolutely prohibited indoors, but is permitted outside and on the decks. Pets are not permitted, but upon request, we will recommend a quality kennel nearby.

Q: Is Eagle's Nest open year round?

A: Yes. And here's a link listing a few of the reasons you may want to book an off-season trip: Winter Activities
